Stream music and videos to your consoles

So, what do you need?
1) a console (Xbox360, Wii, PS3, it also seems to works for some handheld devices).
2) Your Wii and PS3 will need a connection to the internet, your Xbox360 will need to be connected to your local network.
3) A computer with some music or videos on it.
4) Winamp Remote (you can get it here [1], right-click and save).
5) If you are using a Wii, you need to have the Opera browser. If you don’t have it, you can download it from the Wii Shop Channel.

The first steps are universal for every console. You can skip hem if you already have Winamp Remote installed and configured.

  1. Start the installer and follow the instructions.
  2. Create an account (you will be asked) and remember your login information.
  3. Right-click on the Winamp Remote icon in the lower right of you screen and go to configuration
  4. Now add all the folders that contain media that you want to play from your console and press OK.
  5. Make sure Winamp Remote is connected! This also means that you have to leave your computer on.

Choose your console:

PS3 / Wii

  1. Open the browser on the console (for the Wii it’s the Internet Channel, on the PS3 it’s the Internet Browser option)
  2. Login at http://winamp.orb.com [2]
  3. Choose Video or Audio
  4. Go to "Browse Folders" (or any other category)
  5. Select the song or video, press play, sit down and relax.
  6. EXTRA: If you are using a Wii, you will probably need to press "1" to let the controls appear.

Xbox 360

Nice website, I was doing a little net browsing and happened onto your blog, I was wondering if you knew your blog is rendering unusually within the K-mellon browser. I can see everything but the pictures are somehow out of whack. Probably not a big deal since basically nobody utilizes it any longer but I am old school and still run it.
